What is a Wwoofer?

What is a WWOOFER?

As a WWOOFER, you will be taking part of the WWOOF initiative. WWOOF is an acrnymn that stands for "Willing Workers On Organic Farms". To take part of the WWOOF program, exchange is the key word. You will be expected to exchange time and energy for your food and accommodation. Exchange is the true spirit of WWOOF. WWOOFERS are to be willing to do 4 to 6 hours of farming work in exchange for a days food and board (depending on factors like season, workload, quality of their work and the accommodation, etc). These hours can be flexible so WWOOFers but need to be negotiated with Outback Experience ahead of time.

WWOOFER Work information

On “Karma” you are expected to work approx. 6 hours a day. You will receive Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday morning off. On Fridays you can visit Kingaroy for shopping, Library (free internet access) and if you like the Laundry mat. Our working day starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp. The type of work you may be asked to undertake include but are not limited to:

  • Animal care & feeding
